NASCAR finished an exciting race at its shortest track of the season this past Sunday. Brad Keselowski would go on to win the STP 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Before we get set to move onto Texas, here are five lessons learned from last weekend’s race.

Short track racing at Martinsville Speedway always has the chance to turn into a fantastic race, and the STP 500 on Sunday did just that.

Drivers battled around this track and used their bumpers to move each other out of the way. Tempers flared as drivers were pushed up the track and out of the way. We saw cautions throughout the day and every restart was another chance for drivers to battle it out to try and take the lead.

In the end though it would be Brad Keselowski winning the first race of his career at Martinsville and his second race of the season. The two team is looking fantastic this season and will be looking to keep the momentum going forward.

Ryan Blaney was a stand out at Martinsville because of how well he was running early on, and his bull-like style of pushing anyone out of his way, including Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Should Blaney be worried about retaliation from one of these two veterans now?

As we get ready to move further into the regular season next week with the race at Texas, here are five lessons we learned from the STP 500.
