There is a streak building for John Hunter Nemechek, winning his second Camping World Truck Series race in succession at Iowa on Friday night.

John Hunter Nemechek was in need of a lift heading into Gateway last weekend. His team was on the verge of shutting down and dropping out of the Camping World Truck Series. The lift came in the form of a win on Fathers Day weekend. So does this make a win on Friday night at Iowa Speedway the icing on the cake?

Nemechek, driving for his father’s NEMCO Motorsports team, rolled to victory for the second consecutive week in the M&M’s 200 at Iowa Speedway. He took the lead from Johnny Sauter with six laps to go, the same amount of laps remaining when he took the lead last week at Gateway. Helping him take home the checkered flag was a late pit stop with just over ten laps to go, getting four fresh tires after Matt Crafton wrecked.

Johnny Sauter, who stayed out under yellow and fought off a hungry field with older tires, came home second. Brandon Jones, Grant Enfinger, and Christopher Bell rounded out the top five, but not without some drama. Harrison Burton and Justin Haley were battling for positions inside the top five, only to wreck out of the final corner on the final lap.

A big wreck marred the middle of the event, with a lengthy red flag to clean up the incident near Lap 129. Among those involved were Kaz Grala, Austin Wayne Self, and Norm Benning. However, there were still some long green flag runs that tested the strength of the drivers and the trucks in the cornfields.
