#8 and #7

#8. [Last Race: 3rd (-5)] — Jimmie Johnson has simply not had a great season, mostly because of how inconsistent he has been. In fact, he has not finished in the top 10 in two consecutive races since he won back-to-back races at Texas and Bristol over two months ago. However, he does have three wins so far this season, which is tied for the most among all drivers. And wins matter most when the playoffs roll around, as Johnson well knows as a seven-time champion of the sport.. No. 48. Hendrick Motorsports, Chevrolet. JIMMIE JOHNSON

#7. [Last Race: 8th (+1)] — Jamie McMurray has had his best career season so far despite the fact that he has still not yet won a race since the 2013 season. He is tied for 2nd in top 10 finishes with 11 following yet another solid performance at Kentucky that resulted in him finishing in 7th place. He currently sits 6th in the championship standings, and that is without a win. If he can “get the monkey off his back” by the time the playoffs roll around, he could be a legitimate threat to win this season’s championship.. No. 1. Chip Ganassi Racing, Chevrolet. JAMIE MCMURRAY
