#2 and #1

#2. [Last Race: 1st (-1)] — In these rankings, it’s hard to drop a driver who started last and came to the front of the field before dropping to the back and coming back to the front again to finish in 2nd place at Kentucky, especially when that driver is the leader of the championship standings. But from a points perspective, this is a two-driver championship hunt, and that other driver, who trails Larson by just one point in the standings, happened to be the one that finished ahead of him at Kentucky and jumped him for the #1 spot in these rankings.. No. 42. Chip Ganassi Racing, Chevrolet. KYLE LARSON

Furniture Row Racing, Toyota. MARTIN TRUEX JR.. #1. [Last Race: 2nd (+1)] — Martin Truex Jr.’s win at Kentucky was his third victory of the season, which ties him for the lead among all drivers. It was also his third win of the season on a 1.5-mile oval, as he has become the king of 1.5-mile ovals. He still trails Kyle Larson in the championship standings, but only by one point. Seeing as how Truex Jr. has more wins than Larson and more stage wins, stage points and playoff points than anyone else in the series as well as the fact that he finished one spot higher than Larson at Kentucky, Truex Jr. has reclaimed the #1 spot in these rankings.. No. 78
