With just one race remaining in the 2017 NASCAR Cup Series regular season, which five drivers have the best chance to steal a playoff spot?

This is it. Here we are with one race left in the 2017 NASCAR Cup Series regular season at Richmond. A total of 13 playoff spots are taken, with the final three currently belonging to the top 3 winless drivers in terms of points.

And if any driver currently in the top 16 wins at Richmond, the final three spots will belong to those three drivers. However, that will not be the case if a driver currently lower than 16th in the playoff picture manages to steal a playoff spot with a win.

That’s right, a win, and only a win. There is no way for any driver currently outside the top 16 to get into the playoffs without winning at Richmond. But with a win at Richmond, that will guarantee the winner a playoff spot, knocking one of the three drivers currently in the top 3 in points among winless drivers completely out of the playoffs.

So who are the five drivers with the best chance of stealing a playoff spot and shaking up the final three remaining spots by knocking either Chase Elliott, Matt Kenseth or Jamie McMurray out of this year’s playoffs? Let’s have a look.

NOTE: Chase Elliott, Matt Kenseth and Jamie McMurray are not listed because they are currently in playoff spots, therefore none of them can “steal” a playoff spot.
