Danica Patrick is officially out at Stewart-Haas Racing in the 2018 season. Here are five reasons why her decision was the right one.

Danica Patrick announced Tuesday that she is leaving Stewart-Haas Racing and thus relinquishing her driving duties of the #10 Ford following the conclusion of the 2017 NASCAR Cup Series season.

Patrick has driven a total of 180 races in the Cup Series since she made her series debut back in the 2012 season driving for Tommy Baldwin racing. She only drove part-time in 2012, driving just 10 races of the 36-race schedule that season, finishing has high as 17th place at Phoenix. The reason she only drove part-time was because she was a full-time driver for JR Motorsports in the Nationwide (now Xfinity) Series at the time.

In 2013, she got her first full-time ride in the Cup Series, and that was with Stewart-Haas Racing, where she has driven from then until now. But, as mentioned above, her fifth season will be her last season driving for the team.

Here are five reasons why her giving up the driving duties of the #10 Ford was a right choice.
