The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series heads to Texas Motor Speedway for race number two of the Round of 8. Who will be the next driver to punch his ticket?

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series kicked off the Round of 8 at Martinsville Speedway last Sunday. In the end, it was Kyle Busch finding Victory Sane and securing his spot in the championship finale at Homestead-Miami. This week, the teams head to Texas Motor Speedway for what is sure to be an exciting high-speed race.

Well here we are — three more races remaining in the 2017 season and two more left in the Round of 8. It was rather fitting to see a candy sponsor in Victory Lane just two days before Halloween. The win places Kyle Busch in NASCAR’s Championship 4 and puts him in a great position to win his second championship.

First and foremost, I need to address the elephant in the room — the question everyone is asking headed into Texas. Will Chase Elliott repay Denny Hamlin for wrecking him last weekend? All things considered, it put Elliott in a terrible points deficit and cost him the opportunity to claim his first victory in a Cup car. Hamlin is due retaliation, but will this be the week Elliott cashes in or will he pick a different time?

Either way, just two races remain before the Championship 4 drivers are determined and we see who will race for the title. People say everything is bigger in Texas, and that point will be proven this weekend when NASCAR’s best come to town.
