Formula One: Lewis Hamilton is back on social media following a brief hiatus
By Asher Fair
After removing himself from the social media world a few weeks ago, four-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton is back.
When four-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton posted a video of himself and his four-year-old nephew Kaiden on Christmas in which Hamilton told the boy that “boys don’t wear princess dresses”, it was immediately met with backlash as a result of those comments.
Hamilton proceeded to issue an apology for saying what he said, but the same people who wanted him to apologize to begin with claimed his apology was insincere and that he should “put his money where his mouth is” by donating.
Here is the video that Hamilton apologized about following the backlash he received from posting it.

However, after Hamilton apologized, he liked several tweets saying that he did nothing wrong and had no need to apologize, which further angered the people who were angry to begin with and caused them continue to proclaim that his apology was insincere and that he needed to “put his money where his mouth is”.
Shortly after that, Hamilton wiped his Instagram account clean and did almost the exact same thing to his Twitter account. He also stopped posting to his Facebook account.
However, earlier today, he resurfaced on both Instagram and Facebook, and we can only assume that he will soon do the same thing on Twitter, where he currently does not have any media and only has retweets attached to his account and no tweets that he actually posted himself.
Here is what he posted on Facebook in his return to the social media platform.

Is Lewis Hamilton back on Instagram and Facebook for good, or will the social media keyboard warriors force him to take another hiatus? When, if at all, will we see the 32-year-old return to Twitter? Will it be before the 2018 Formula One season begins and he attempts to vault into a second place tie on the all-time championships list with five? The season is set to get underway in just over two months on Sunday, March 25th with the Australian Grand Prix, a race Hamilton won in 2008 and 2015.
