Just days after posting what many deemed as a controversial video, Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton has deleted all of his Instagram posts.

Four-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton recently uploaded a video of himself and his four-year-old nephew Kaiden on Instagram. In this video, which was recorded on Christmas Day, Kaiden was wearing a princess dress and carrying a toy magic wand, both of which he got for Christmas.

Hamilton, 32, sparked a worldwide outrage by posting this video because of what he said to his nephew in it. Several trolls, many of whom oddly claimed to be against hate in their reasoning for not supporting Hamilton, began hatefully targeting Hamilton on social media.

Here is the video.

After Hamilton issued an apology for what he said in the video, which is what many trolls claimed that they wanted from him, the same trolls told him to “put his money where his mouth is” and donate money to prove his apology was legitimate.

So when he liked tweets saying he did nothing wrong and should not have apologized, the trolling only got worse, as many people slammed him for issuing what they called an “insincere” apology.

And that’s how we get to where we are now. Hamilton has now deleted every single one of the posts on his Instagram account, which is followed by more than 5.7 million people. While he didn’t actually delete or deactivate his account, he effectively removed himself from Instagram. Now, no one can comment hate speech on his pictures or videos like they had been doing, particularly over the last week or so, although people have always done so on his account given the fact that he is a successful world-class athlete.

Will Lewis Hamilton ever post to any of his social media accounts again, or have we seen the last of him from a social media standpoint after the reason outrage over his Instagram video? Will he ever upload another photo or video to Instagram again? No one knows at this point. No one knows.
