Danica Patrick has found her a ride for the 2018 Daytona 500 with Premium Motorsports, but will she be able to compete for a win?

It was getting close. For a while there, I thought we might not see Danica Patrick suit up again in 2018 after a potential deal with Chip Ganassi Racing fell through.

As the deadline ticked closer and closer, she was finally able to put together a quick deal with Premium Motorsports for this year’s Daytona 500. The team are a very obscure team that have been competing on a limited schedule since 2015 with drivers like Reed Sorenson, Cole Whitt, and Michael Waltrip just to name a few.

Fielding a car for Danica Patrick is sure to get their name out there now, though. Veteran crew chief Tony Eury Jr. will be joining her for this one-race stint as well.

What can be expected out of a pairing between Patrick, who has only had seven career top 10 finishes in 190 career Cup Series races, and a race team with only one top 10 finishes in 138 races? Thankfully, Daytona is the great equalizer, so,she should be able to put together a solid performance, right?

Everyone wants to believe this could be a great last hurrah for Danica and that she can win her first Cup Series race, but it might be worth your time to take a look at some statistics before we start writing that chapter in her biography.
