The start of the 2018 IndyCar season is right around the corner. Where do the 10 full-time teams rank in the preseason power rankings?

The start of the 2018 IndyCar season is almost here. With the offseason between the 2017 and 2018 seasons coming to an end and the six-month season nearly here, which teams sit atop the preseason team power rankings?

Team Penske were the dominant team throughout the 2017 IndyCar season much like they have been in recent years. In fact, their current drivers have combined to win three of the last four championships.

However, with the new universal aero kits, will Team Penske be able to maintain their huge advantage? In the 2017 season, the three Chevrolet teams combined to win 10 races, while the Honda teams combined to win seven races. All 10 of those Chevrolet team wins belonged to Team Penske.

The new aero kits should make for many good storylines throughout the season, especially early on when teams and drivers are still getting used to them. Given the fact that they have never been used in a competitive environment at any track on the 2018 schedule, things could become very interesting down the stretch as well.

Here are the preseason team power rankings for the 2018 IndyCar season.
