Which drivers rank where in the driver road and street course power rankings following the first race of the 2018 IndyCar season in St. Petersburg?

One race on the 17-race 2018 IndyCar schedule is officially in the books after Sebastien Bourdais took the checkered flag in his #18 Honda for Dale Coyne Racing in the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.

The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, a 110-lap race around a 14-turn, 1.8-mile temporary street course in St. Petersburg, Florida, was, in fact, a street course race, so these IndyCar Driver Road and Street Course Power Rankings mirror the overall IndyCar Driver Power Rankings given the nature of the formula used to calculate both sets of rankings.

The only difference in these rankings is the fact that Jordan King, the lone full-time road and street course driver who is not also a full-time driver, is included in the IndyCar Driver Road and Street Course Power Rankings, but he is not included in the overall IndyCar Driver Power Rankings.

That said, the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is the only race after which this is guaranteed to be the case this season since the next IndyCar race is an oval race at ISM Raceway in Avondale, Arizona.

Because of this, IndyCar Driver Oval Power Rankings are set to be released after that race as opposed to IndyCar Driver Road and Street Course Power Rankings. As a result, these rankings will remain the same, but the overall IndyCar Driver Power Rankings will be affected by the outcome of the Phoenix race.

Here is the 2018 season debut of the IndyCar Driver Road and Street Course Power Rankings, which are based on a new formula. To read about the formula that is used to determine these rankings, read the article posted during the offseason on Beyond the Flag that discusses it in-depth.
