Two races of the 2018 IndyCar season are now in the books. How do the driver power rankings look following the second race of the season at Phoenix?

The 2018 Desert Diamond West Valley Casino Phoenix Grand Prix, which was the second race of the 2018 IndyCar season, was won by Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden in his #2 Chevrolet, giving the series two different winners in two races so far this season.

Sebastien Bourdais won the season opener on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida four weeks ago in his #18 Honda for Dale Coyne Racing.

Newgarden’s win is the only top 6 finish for any Chevrolet driver through the first two races of the 2018 IndyCar season, but it was certainly a pretty impactful top 6 finish given the fact that it was a win.

While Chevrolet drivers and Honda drivers are tied at one win apiece at this point in the season, Chevrolet drivers have just one of the 12 top 6 finishes through two races, while Honda drivers have 11 of the 12.

While wins are really what count, Newgarden is really the only Chevrolet driver toward the top of the championship standings as a result of the fact that he won at Phoenix and no other Chevrolet driver has finished a race in the top 6 so far this season. In fact, only one other Chevrolet driver has more than half of the number of points that he does.
