Conclusion

With Jean-Eric Vergne now having won three of the last five races and being the only driver who has won three races so far in the 2017-2018 Formula E season, it would appear that it would take a miracle for a driver other than Vergne to win the fourth annual Formula E championship.

More from Formula E

Vergne is the only driver who has not finished outside of the top 14 in any race so far this season, and he has not even finished a single race in a position lower than fifth place.

At this point, Sam Bird is likely the only driver who even has an outside chance of stealing the championship away from Vergne. However, it may be hard for him to do seeing as how he trails Vergne in the driver standings by 31 points with just four races to go in the 2017-2018 season, a total that is up from 18 points, which is where it was prior to the 2018 Paris ePrix that resulted in a win for Vergne and a third place finish for Bird.

Be sure to tune in to the ninth of 12 races on the 2017-2018 Formula E schedule. That race is the Berlin ePrix, and it is set to be held on Saturday, May 19th at the 10-turn, 1.398-mile (2.250-kilometer) Tempelhof Airport Street Circuit in Berlin, Germany.
