The 2018 Indy 500 is approaching quickly. Here are the way-too-early team power rankings for this year’s running of the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”

The 2018 Indianapolis 500 is approaching quickly, and there is set to be bumping for the first time since the 2015 edition of the race. In fact, multiple drivers are set to be bumped from the race for the first time since the 2011 Indy 500.

A total of 35 IndyCar drivers among 13 teams are set to attempt to qualify for this year’s Indy 500 at the four-turn, 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval in Speedway, Indiana, with 33 set to qualify for the race, meaning one or more full teams may be left on the outside looking in since team sizes range from one driver to six drivers.

Here are the way-too-early team power rankings among teams set to have at least one driver attempt to qualify for the 102nd running of the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing”.

#13. . Juncos Racing. Chevrolet. JUNCOS RACING

Last season, Juncos Racing made their Indy 500 debut and their IndyCar debut by entering two drivers in the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing”. Neither of their drivers qualified for the race in the top 28, but they both finished in the top 18 after a high number of drivers failed to finish the race. They did not show much speed throughout the month of May whatsoever. This season is their first season as more than an Indy 500-only team, but they are only entering one driver in this year’s Indy 500. While this may allow them to focus on getting that car up to speed as opposed to having to worry about doing so for two cars, it is hard to see them getting much speed given the lack of speed they have had to start this season. They enter this year’s Indy 500 with Kyle Kaiser, who is not a full-time driver.
