The 2018 Indy 500 is rapidly approaching. Here are the way-too-early driver power rankings for this year’s running of the historic race.

The 2018 Indianapolis 500 is approaching quickly, and there is set to be bumping for the first time since the 2015 Indy 500. Given the fact that 35 drivers are entered to attempt to qualify for the race, the highest total since 42 drivers were entered to attempt to qualify for the 2011 Indy 500, multiple drivers are set to be bumped from the field in qualifying for the first time since 2011.

Only one driver, Buddy Lazier, was bumped out of the field in qualifying for the 2015 Indy 500, as there were a total of 34 drivers entered to attempt to qualify for the race.

A total of 35 IndyCar drivers among 13 different teams are set to attempt to qualify for this year’s Indy 500 at the four-turn, 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval in Speedway, Indiana. However, only 33 set to qualify for the race, meaning two drivers will be bumped out.

With team sizes ranging from one driver to six drivers, we could end up seeing all 13 of these different teams represented in the race itself with at least one driver, or we could end up seeing two of the 13 teams bumped out of the field completely.

Here are the way-too-early drivers power rankings among drivers who are set to attempt to qualify for the 102nd running of the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing”.
