The 2018 Indy 500 is under one week away. With the starting grid set, here are the driver power rankings for this year’s running of the race.

Following two days of qualifying, the starting grid for the 102nd running of the Indy 500, the sixth race of the 2018 IndyCar season, is set. Of the 35 drivers who attempted to qualify for the race, 33 actually qualified.

Dale Coyne Racing’s Pippa Mann and Schmidt Peterson Motorsports’ James Hinchcliffe both failed to qualify for the race and were eliminated on Bump Day, which was on Saturday. Ed Carpenter Racing’s Ed Carpenter took his third pole in the last six Indy 500 races on Pole Day, which was on Sunday, preventing a Team Penske sweep of the front row.

Chevrolet drivers ended up taking nine of top 11 positions on the starting grid, which should make things very interested seeing as how the Honda drivers have seemed to have the upper hand with a tow throughout the practice sessions for the race.

Aside of today’s practice session, just one practice session remains before the race itself on Sunday, May 27. That practice session is set to take place on Carb Day, which is Friday, May 25.

Here are the Indy 500 Driver Power Rankings ahead of Sunday’s running of the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing”.
