NASCAR Cup Series: Kyle Busch takes a shot at Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
By Asher Fair
Kyle Busch took a shot at Ricky Stenhouse Jr. when discussing the fact that he did not reach out to him after wrecking him in last Saturday night’s NASCAR Cup Series race.
Roush Fenway Racing’s Ricky Stenhouse Jr. wrecked Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch out of last Saturday’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway on the 65th lap of the 168-lap race around the four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) oval in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The 2015 NASCAR Cup Series champion was running in second place in his #18 Toyota with Stenhouse Jr. right behind him in third before Stenhouse Jr. spun him out, wrecking him in the process.
In his post-crash interview, Busch did not take too kindly to the fact that Stenhouse Jr. wrecked him out of the race when Stenhouse Jr. had causing a wreck that involved 26 drivers and knocked seven drivers out of the race just 11 laps earlier.
Busch has not let go of the fact that Stenhouse Jr. wrecked him, and many others are probably in the same boat seeing as how the 30-year-old had at least some effect on well over 70% of the drivers in the field last Saturday night.
When asked if Stenhouse Jr. reached out to him after causing the wreck that knocked him out of the Coke Zero Sugar 400, here is how Busch responded, according to USA Today.
"“He did not reach out.”"
When asked if he was disappointed that Stenhouse Jr. did not reach out, here is how Busch responded, according to USA Today.

When asked why he was disappointed that Stenhouse Jr. did not reach out, here is how Busch responded, according to USA Today.
"“You wipe out half the field and pretty sure there would be a pretty busy Monday for him. But there wasn’t, so apparently he just doesn’t care.”"
When asked whether or not this incident and the fact that Stenhouse Jr. did not reach out to him about it would affect how he races Stenhouse Jr. in the future, Busch took a shot at Stenhouse Jr. Here is what Busch said, according to USA Today.
"“I can’t worry about people that far back in the field.”"
Here is a video of Busch discussing the matter.

Busch currently leads the NASCAR Cup Series championship standings, stage point standings, playoff standings and playoff picture. Meanwhile, Stenhouse Jr. currently sits in 16th in the championship standings and 17th in the playoff picture, meaning he is on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoff bubble.
Busch leads the championship standings by 57 points over Kevin Harvick in second place. Meanwhile, Stenhouse Jr. currently sits 19 points behind Alex Bowman, who currently occupies the 16th and final playoff position, meaning that while they may seem offensive, Busch’s comments that he does not have to worry about “people that far back in the field” such as Stenhouse Jr. are fairly accurate.
