Formula 1 traveled to the picturesque Hungaroring in Budapest, Hungary, where Lewis Hamilton dominated the race from start to finish.

Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport’s Lewis Hamilton captured his fifth win of the 2018 Formula 1 season by laying down a historic performance during the 70-lap race around the 2.722-mile (4.381-kilometer) track that he claims as a favorite for its likeness to a go-kart track.

The previous Hungarian Grand Prix was held in 2017, and Scuderia Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel took a rare win away from the dominant Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsports team in that race. Vettel qualified on pole and drove to victory last year.

The 2018 Hungarian Grand Prix saw Hamilton dominate from start to finish and head into the summer break with renewed momentum and a significant lead in the driver championship standings over Vettel.
