Romain Grosjean is set to return to Haas in the 2019 Formula 1 season, which is set to be his fourth overall season and fourth consecutive season driving for the team.

There is one driver who has driven for Haas since they entered Formula 1 in the 2016 season, and that driver is set to return to the team for the fourth overall season and fourth consecutive season next year, as expected.

Romain Grosjean has never driven for a team other than Haas since Formula 1’s lone American team entered the sport in the 2016 season, and that is not set to change in the 2019 season, which is set to be his ninth overall season and eighth consecutive season in the sport.

Before he drove for Haas, the 32-year-old Frenchman drove for two other teams in Formula 1. In the 2009 season, he drove part-time for Renault. He did not compete in the 2010 season and was a test driver for Lotus in the 2011 season. He signed with Lotus ahead of the 2012 season and drove for the team until the 2015 season ended before he begun his tenure with Haas.

Here is what Grosjean had to say about returning to Haas for the 2019 season, according to Autosport.

"“It’s impressive to see what this team has accomplished in such a relatively short time, and for someone who has been here since the very beginning, I take a lot of pride in the time, effort and sacrifice we’ve all put forth to make Haas F1 Team so competitive. I’m very happy to continue with Haas F1 Team and represent Haas Automation and all of our partners. Gene Haas has built something very special – something we can make even better – and it’s an honour to be a part of it.”"

Here is what Haas team boss Guenther Steiner had to say about Grosjean returning to the team for the 2019 season, according to Autosport.

"“From the very beginning, we needed experienced drivers to hasten the development of our car and our team, and we have two very good and experienced drivers in Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen. We’ve improved drastically from last year to this year, so retaining both drivers was a pretty easy decision.”"

Kevin Magnussen, Haas’ other driver, is also set to return to the team next year.

In the 54 races in which he has competed since signing with Haas, Grosjean has earned two top five finishes and 17 top 10 finishes. His best finish driving for the team is his fourth place finish, which he earned in this year’s Austrian Grand Prix.

Grosjean finished in 13th place in the driver standings in both the 2016 and 2017 seasons, and he currently sits in 14th with one top five finish and four top 10 finishes through 15 races this season. He also finished in sixth place in the Italian Grand Prix, but he was disqualified after the race concluded.

Over the course of his Formula 1 career, Grosjean has competed in 137 races. He has earned 10 podium finishes, 14 top five finishes and 52 top 10 finishes. His career-high finishes are second place finishes, which he earned in the 2012 Canadian Grand Prix and the 2013 United States Grand Prix. His career-high finish in the driver standings is his seventh place finish, which he recorded in the 2013 season.

How will Romain Grosjean perform in the 2019 Formula 1 season in what is set to be his fourth overall season and fourth consecutive season driving for Haas? Will he be in contention to be considered the “best of the rest” behind the six Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport, Scuderia Ferrari and Aston Martin Red Bull Racing drivers, at least more so that he has been throughout the course of the 2018 season?
