NASCAR finally hit the Charlotte Motor Speedway roval, and now it’s time to soak in the excitement! Here is my reaction after the Bank of America Roval 400!

Howdy, race fans! After taking a couple of weeks off, I’m back to give my thoughts on current topics in NASCAR! This week, I’m here to give my “roval reaction” following the 2018 Bank of America Roval 400!

I was fortunate to attend Sunday’s race with my father and I have to say it was one of the most enjoyable races I’ve ever attended! My race resume has grown over the years, and Sunday’s roval conundrum is right at the top.

This was my first ever road course experience, and boy does it make me enjoy it even more! I’ve seen Daytona International Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway, visited Darlington Raceway and viewed the high banks of Bristol Motor Speedway, but Sunday’s race was one of my favorite NASCAR moments in my 16-years of fandom.

The combination of uniqueness and constant action kept me entertained throughout the entire race. Even a long green run kept me on my toes because you never knew what could happen at any moment. Before things got crazy in the closing stages, fans witnessed cars spinning, knocking over billboard signs and a battle of distance between playoff contenders Brad Keselowski and Kyle Larson.

Playoff drivers once again struggled, as expected, which raised the level of excitement even more.

I sat right at the entrance to turns one and eight, which forged many battles and a six-pack of drama throughout the race. In addition to overall great road course racing, I’d be delirious to not mention the craziest parts of the race.

The explosive restart during which Brad Keselowski and others completely blew through turn one painted the picture we had all envisioned all weekend long. The incident occurred right in front of me, and boy did the crowd go wild. You never want to see drivers crash or cars torn up, but this was what the marketing department was banking on: pure madness.

The leader completely missing the corner on old tires is something you rarely witness outside of your gaming console. That point truly made the roval the nightmare that it was supposed to be.

Lastly, the finish was epic. Thought I sat on the opposite side of the frontstretch from where it took place, I had a perfect view of the race to the checkered flag. If you missed it, please watch, and I am warning you that a spoiler is coming next. Jimmie Johnson overcooked the corner and spun out in desperation to win. While spinning, he clipped the car of leader Martin Truex Jr., which handed the win to young star Ryan Blaney.

It was absolutely nuts.

After I finished jumping and screaming, I had realized that this race may have been the best I’ve ever attended.

Overall, Charlotte Motor Speedway is already an amazing facility, and the roval only adds to its value. Aesthetically, this race looked fun, and it was fun. We saw many battles and a finish for the ages. There is not much more you could have asked for. I highly recommend going to the race at the roval to anyone who couldn’t attend this year. Trust me when I say I’ll be back next season.

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed the Bank of America Roval 400 as much as I did! Hopefully the drama continues on as NASCAR heads to Dover International Speedway this weekend! Congratulations to everyone whose drivers made it into the round of 12, and for those whose drivers didn’t, it’s time to let it all hang out! See you next time!
