Kyle Busch has a chance to break the all-time NASCAR Truck Series wins record in the 2019 season. Will he pull off this historic feat?

The 2019 NASCAR Truck Series season got underway this past Friday, February 15 with the NextEra Energy 250 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. But for Kyle Busch, the season is set to get underway this Saturday with the Active Pest Control 200 at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia.

Busch is set to drive in five of the remaining 22 races on the 23-race 2019 Truck Series schedule. He is set to drive the #51 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota in each of these five races.

In addition to this Saturday’s race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, the 33-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada native is set to compete in the race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday, March 1, the race at Martinsville Speedway on Saturday, March 23, the race at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday, March 29 and the race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday, May 17 to wrap up his 2019 Truck Series schedule.

After earning two victories in five Truck Series starts last season, Busch is set to enter this season tied with Ron Hornaday Jr. for the most wins in Truck Series history. Hornaday Jr. retired with 51 Truck Series victories to his name. Busch earned his 50th and 51st career Truck Series victories last season.

Will Busch break the all-time Truck Series wins record this season?

The answer to this question is likely the answer to the following question: Will Busch compete in the Truck Series this season?

Over the last six seasons, Busch has competed in between four and 11 Truck Series races per season. He has earned between two and seven victories in each of these six seasons. Since the start of the 2013 season, he has competed in 41 Truck Series races and earned 21 victories, meaning that he has won more races than he hasn’t during this span.

The odds that Busch goes five consecutive Truck Series races without earning a single victory are small, and all he needs is one victory to become the winningest driver in Truck Series history.

Since earning his first victory in the 2013 Truck Series season, Busch’s longest Truck Series win drought is three races, and he has only had one win drought of this length since earning this victory. He went on this win drought in the 2017 season, and he still ended up earning three victories in seven races that season.
