Kyle Busch dominated the third race of the 2019 NASCAR Truck Series season, the Strat 200, at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and ended up winning it.

Kyle Busch Motorsports’ Kyle Busch has competed in two of the first three races on the 2019 NASCAR Truck Series schedule, and he has won both of them.

After winning last Saturday night’s Ultimate Tailgating 200 at Atlanta Motor Speedway in dominant fashion in his #51 Toyota to becoming the winningest driver in Truck Series history with 52 career victories, the 33-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada native dominated the Strat 200 at his home track, Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Busch, who started the 134-lap race around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) high-banked Las Vegas Motor Speedway oval from the pole position, won it by 1.211 seconds over GMS Racing’s Brett Moffitt, who finished in second place in his #24 Chevrolet.

This victory is the 53rd victory of Busch’s Truck Series career and the 196th victory of his NASCAR career, moving him to within four victories of the all-time NASCAR wins record. Richard Petty holds that record with 200 career victories, of which all 200 he earned in the Cup Series.

Busch is set to compete in three of the remaining 20 races on this year’s Truck Series schedule. He is set to compete in the race at Martinsville Speedway on Saturday, March 23, the race at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday, March 29 and the race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday, May 17.

ThorSport Racing’s Matt Crafton was the highest finishing Ford driver of the race. He finished in third place in his #88 Ford. Halmar Friesen Racing’s Stewart Friesen and Kyle Busch Motorsports’ Harrison Burton rounded out the top five by finishing in fourth and fifth in their #52 Chevrolet and #18 Toyota, respectively.

GMS Racing’s Sheldon Creed, Kyle Busch Motorsports’ Todd Gilliland, ThorSport Racing’s Johnny Sauter, DGR-Crosley’s Ryan Reed and Niece Motorsports’ Ross Chastain rounded out the top 10 by finishing in sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th place in their #2 Chevrolet, #4 Toyota, #13 Ford, #17 Toyota and #45 Chevrolet, respectively.

The race featured a total of seven lead changes among five drivers. Aside of Busch, who led more laps than anybody else in the field with 110 laps led, four drivers led at least one lap of the race. Those drivers were Crafton, Chastain, Grant Enfinger and Ben Rhodes. Busch won both stages one and two.

The race also featured a total of three caution flag periods for 15 laps. Only one of these three caution flag periods took place as a result of an on-track incident, and this caution flag period took place just a few laps into the race. The other two caution flag periods that took place throughout the race took place a result of the endings of stages one and two. Of the 32 drivers who started the race, 29 finished it and nine finished it on the lead lap.
