Kyle Busch is aiming to secure the third tripleheader sweep of his NASCAR career in this Sunday’s Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube.

Twice in his NASCAR career, which now includes a total of 197 victories (51 Cup Series victories, 93 Xfinity Series victories and 53 Truck Series victories), has Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch swept a tripleheader weekend.

The 33-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada native has only ever pulled this off at one track, and that one track is the four-turn, 0.533-mile (0.858-kilometer) high-banked Bristol Motor Speedway oval in Bristol, Tennessee.

Busch won the Truck Series, Xfinity Series and Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway back in August of 2010, and he repeated this feat in August of 2017.

More from NASCAR Cup Series

After winning Friday’s Truck Series race, the Strat 200, and Saturday’s Xfinity Series race, the Boyd Gaming 300, at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the 2015 Cup Series champion has a chance to secure the third tripleheader sweep of his NASCAR career in tomorrow’s Cup Series race at the track.

Busch is set to start tomorrow’s Cup Series race, the Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube, at the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) high-banked Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada in third place in his #18 Toyota after starting off the season with the best two-race average finish among the sport’s drivers.

Busch finished in second place in the Cup Series season opener, the 61st annual Daytona 500, at Daytona International Speedway, and he finished in sixth in the season’s second race, the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500, at Atlanta Motor Speedway, giving himself an average finish of 4.00 heading into the season’s third race.

Over the course of his Cup Series career, Busch has competed in 15 races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He has earned one victory, six top four finishes and eight top nine finishes in these 15 races, and his average finish in them is 12.87. He earned his lone Cup Series victory at the track in the March race in the 2009 season.
