Greg Biffle is set to drive for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the NASCAR Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway, the Rattlesnake 400, in June.

Greg Biffle made his return to NASCAR by participating in the first of two practice sessions on Thursday for the Truck Series race, the Vankor 350, at Texas Motor Speedway tomorrow evening. He drove the #51 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota in this session.

This return marked the first action in NASCAR of any kind for the 49-year-old Vancouver, Washington native since he competed in the 2016 Cup Series season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway to close out his final season as a full-time driver in the sport.

Additionally, this return marked the first action in the Truck Series of any kind for Biffle since he competed in the 2004 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Biffle is not set to compete in the 147-lap Vankor 350 at the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) high-banked Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, as Kyle Busch Motorsports team owner Kyle Busch is set to make the fourth of his five scheduled starts throughout the season in this race as the driver of the #51 Toyota.

But aside of this Friday night’s race at Texas Motor Speedway, the only Truck Series race remaining on Busch’s schedule for the 2019 season is the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday, May 17, as he is only allowed to compete in five Truck Series races per season.

As a result, when the Truck Series returns to Texas Motor Speedway for the Rattlesnake 400 on Friday, June 7, Biffle is set to compete as the driver of the #51 Toyota.

Here is what Biffle had to say about the opportunity to drive for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway in June, according to NASCAR.

"“I’ve always said that I would return to NASCAR in the right situation and when Kyle and I started talking about that KBM needed a driver for the June Texas race, I felt like this was the right opportunity to return to the track. I’m thankful for the opportunity to be able to drive such good equipment. I started my career in the Truck Series and it was one of the greatest times of my life, so it’s going to be a lot of fun to get back behind the wheel of a truck.”"

Here is what Busch had to say about the matter, according to NASCAR.

"“As we were putting the finishing touches on our driver lineup for this year, we found ourselves looking for someone to drive the No. 51 Tundra in the June race and we are fortunate to be putting a driver of Greg’s caliber behind the wheel. I’ve been friends with Greg for a long time and we’ve always joked about how it would be cool for him to drive trucks again.“When this opportunity came about the talks got serious and we both decided it was smart decision. Not only is he capable of stepping right in and getting another win for the No. 51 team as we work towards the Owner’s Championship, he will also be an experienced teammate for Harrison (Burton) and Todd (Gilliland) to lean on that weekend as they try to secure a spot in the playoffs and pursue another Truck Series Driver’s Championship for our organization.”"

Biffle, the 2000 Truck Series champion, has competed in 81 Truck Series races over the course of five seasons, but only in one race since the 2001 season. He has earned 16 victories, 42 top five finishes, 54 top 10 finishes and 12 pole positions, and he has led 2,035 of the 13,706 laps that he has completed. His average career starting position is 7.4 and his average career finishing position is 9.1.
