Christopher Bell earned his second victory of the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series season by winning the Alsco 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Prior to today, the last NASCAR Xfinity Series race in which Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch did not compete took place in late February at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell earned his first victory of the 2019 season in this race.

Busch did not compete in today’s Alsco 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway, and Bell doubled his 2019 season win total by winning this race, giving him two consecutive victories in Xfinity Series races that have not featured the 33-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada native.

Bell, who started the 300-lap race around the four-turn, 0.533-mile (0.858-kilometer) high-handed Bristol Motor Speedway oval in Bristol, Tennessee in eighth place, won it by 0.906 seconds over Richard Childress Racing’s Tyler Reddick, who finished in second in his #2 Chevrolet.

Stewart-Haas Racing teammates Cole Custer, who started the race from the pole position, and Chase Briscoe were the highest finishing Ford drivers of the race. They finished in third and fourth place in their #00 Ford and #98 Ford, respectively. GMS Racing’s John Hunter Nemechek finished in fifth in his #23 Chevrolet.

Team Penske’s Austin Cindric, Kaulig Racing’s Justin Haley, JR Motorsports teammates Michael Annett and Noah Gragson, and Joe Gibbs Racing’s Harrison Burton rounded out the top 10 by finishing in sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th place in their #22 Ford, #11 Chevrolet, #1 Chevrolet, #9 Chevrolet and #18 Toyota, respectively.

The race featured a total of 11 lead changes among five drivers. Aside of Bell, who led 57 laps, four drivers led at least one lap of the race. Those drivers were Reddick, Custer, Joe Gibbs Racing’s Brandon Jones and JR Motorsports’ Justin Allgaier.

Allgaier won both stage one and stage two, and he led more laps than anybody else in the field with 138 laps led. However, his chances of winning the race or even recording a decent finish went out the window due to an accident on lap 228.

The race also featured a total of four caution flag periods, of which two took place as a result of on-track incidents and two took place as a result of the usual endings of stages one and two, for 40 laps. Of the 37 drivers who started the race, 29 finished it, and of the 29 drivers who finished it, 11 finished it on the lead lap.
