Will a ninth different driver win the ninth race of the 2018-2019 Formula E season, the Monaco ePrix, at Circuit de Monaco?

Eight of the 13 races on the 2018-2019 Formula E schedule have been completed, and just as the case was through the each of the first seven races of the season, no driver has managed to win two races yet this season.

Eight different drivers have won the first eight races of the season, with Envision Virgin Racing’s Robin Frijns becoming the most recent winner by winning the Paris ePrix.

BMW i Andretti Autosport’s Antonio Felix da Costa opened up the season by winning the Ad Diriyah ePrix before Mahindra Racing’s Jerome d’Ambrosio went on to win the season’s second race, the Marrakesh ePrix.

Envision Virgin Racing’s Sam Bird responded by winning the season’s third race, the Santiago ePrix, before Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler’s Lucas di Grassi won the season’s fourth race, the Mexico City ePrix, and Venturi’s Edoardo Mortara won the season’s fifth race, the Hong Kong ePrix.

Defending champion Jean-Eric Vergne of DS Techeetah then went on to win the season’s sixth race, the Sanya ePrix, before Panasonic Jaguar Racing’s Mitch Evans won the season’s seventh race, the Rome ePrix, leading up to Frijns’s victory.

Will a ninth different driver win the ninth race of the season, the Monaco ePrix?

There are still plenty of talented drivers out there who have not yet won a race and could very well do so in the 45-minute race around the 12-turn, 1.096-mile (1.765-kilometer) Circuit de Monaco temporary street circuit in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

DS Techeetah’s Andre Lotterer has recorded consecutive second place finishes, and he sits in second in the driver standings, just one point (81 to 80) behind Frijns for the lead. He appears to be on the verge of earning what would be the first victory of his Formula E career.

Additionally, Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler’s Daniel Abt, Mahindra Racing’s Pascal Wehrlein and Nissan e.dams teammates Oliver Rowland and Sebastien Buemi have all shown solid speed on several occasions this season, and it would not be surprising to see any of them add their names to the long list of winners that this season has produced.

Don’t sleep on BMW i Andretti Motorsport’s Alexander Sims, HWA Racelab’s Stoffel Vandoorne, Venturi’s Felipe Massa or Geox Dragon Racing’s Maximilian Gunther, either. All four of these drivers who have not had great seasons have shown that they have what it takes to run at the front from time to time as well.
