Following post-qualifying grid penalties, here is the provisional starting grid for the crown jewel on the Formula 1 schedule, the Monaco Grand Prix, at Circuit de Monaco.

After the qualifying session for the sixth race on the 21-race 2019 Formula 1 schedule, the Monaco Grand Prix, at Circuit de Monaco, two drivers were issued grid penalties, which affected the starting positions of eight of the 20 drivers in this race.

Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s Pierre Gasly, who originally qualified for this race in fifth place, and Alfa Romeo Racing rookie Antonio Giovinazzi, who originally qualified in 15th, were both issued three-position grid penalties after the qualifying session for this race.

Gasly was issued his three-position grid penalty for impeding the progress of Rich Energy Haas’ Romain Grosjean in the second of three rounds of qualifying for this race while Giovinazzi was issued his three-position grid penalty for impeding the progress of Renault’s Nico Hulkenberg in the same round.

Grosjean and Hulkenberg both failed to advance to the third and final round of qualifying for this race as a result of the fact that they had their progress impeded by Gasly and Giovinazzi, respectively.

Six drivers ended up moving up by one position on the starting grid as a result of the three-position grid penalties that were issued to Gasly and Giovinazzi, although Grosjean and Hulkenberg were not two of them. The teammates of both drivers, however, were.

Haas’ Kevin Magnussen, Renault’s Daniel Ricciardo and Scuderia Toro Rosso’s Daniil Kvyat originally qualified for this race in sixth, seventh and eighth place, respectively. As a result of the three-position grid penalty that was issued to Gasly, they are now set to start in fifth, sixth and seventh ahead of Gasly in eighth.

Scuderia Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and SportPesa Racing Point teammates Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll originally qualified for this race in 16th, 17th and 18th place, respectively. But as a result of the three-position grid penalty that was issued to Giovinazzi, they are now set to start in 15th, 16th and 17th ahead of Giovinazzi in 18th.

As a result, here is the provisional starting grid for the 2019 edition of the 78-lap Monaco Grand Prix around the 19-turn, 2.074-mile (3.338-kilometer) Circuit de Monaco temporary street circuit in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
