After the 2019 IndyCar season’s seventh race, Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix Race 1, at the Raceway on Belle Isle, how do the IndyCar Driver Power Rankings look?

Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden became the second driver to win two races in the 17-race 2019 IndyCar season by winning the season’s seventh race, Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix Race 1, at the Raceway on Belle Isle.

Newgarden’s victory in this 43-lap race, which was originally scheduled to be a 70-lap race but became a 75-minute race as a result of rain, around the 14-turn, 2.35-mile (3.782-kilometer) Raceway on Belle Isle temporary street circuit on the streets of Belle Isle in Detroit, Michigan tied him with teammate Simon Pagenaud atop the wins list through seven races so far this season.

Newgarden also won the season opened on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida. Meanwhile, Pagenaud won the two races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the IndyCar Grand Prix on the track’s road course and the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 on the track’s oval.
