At the 2019 Formula 1 summer break, how do the cars of each of the sport’s 10 teams stack up against one another in terms of their strength?

Sometimes the constructor standings can say one thing while the actual strength of the cars entered by each of Formula 1‘s 10 teams can say another.

Is this the case so far in the 2019 season?

With 12 of the season’s 21 scheduled races in the books, we are currently in the midst of the summer break, which began upon the conclusion of the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday, August 4 and is set to last until the Belgian Grand Prix on Sunday, September 1.

How do the cars of Formula 1’s teams stack up against one another in terms of their strength at this point in the season?

10. ROKiT Williams Racing

Not much needs to be said here. ROKiT Williams Racing have scored one point this season as a result of Robert Kubica’s 10th place finish in the German Grand Prix when he finished ahead of rookie George Russell in 11th.

Nine other drivers had issues in this race ranging from crashes to mechanical issues to post-race penalties. In other words, even this result was a glorified last place finish for the team that have effectively entered a glorified Formula 2 car this year.

Russell has combined to finish 11 places ahead of non-Williams drivers throughout the whole season. Kubica has combined to finish five places ahead of them.

9. SportPesa Racing Point

Even with Lance Stroll’s fourth place finish in the German Grand Prix that came as a result of a late pit strategy call, SportPesa Racing Point sit in eighth place in the constructor standings. Even this position is generous given the overall strength of the team’s car.

Stroll’s fourth place finish in this race resulted in 12 points, and 12 points is 38.71% of the team’s point total of 31. Other than this result, they have scored only two points over the course of the last eight races. They have silently given Williams a run for their money as Formula 1’s worst team during this span.
