The 2020 IndyCar schedule is set to be revealed on NBC during the Grand Prix of Portland pre-race segment this afternoon.

Prior to the penultimate race of the 17-race 2019 IndyCar season, the Grand Prix of Portland, this afternoon, IndyCar is slated to reveal the 2020 schedule.

NBC is set to broadcast the Grand Prix of Portland live from Portland International Speedway beginning at 3:00 p.m. ET. But before the race goes green, IndyCar CEO Mark Miles is set to reveal the schedule from 3:18 p.m. ET to 3:23 p.m. ET.

There are not expected to be many changes to next year’s schedule from this year, although Richmond Raceway and Pocono Raceway remain key talking points.

Richmond Raceway has been rumored as the replacement for Pocono Raceway. In fact, Sports Business Journal’s Adam Stern has reported that the former will, in fact, be on the 2020 schedule.

However, he has not reported that Pocono Raceway will be removed from the schedule to make room for Richmond Raceway, although he maintains that this remains the most likely option despite the fact the attendance at Pocono Raceway continues to increase year after year and the track wants America’s premier open-wheel series back for what would be the eighth consecutive season in 2020.

Here is what IndyCar vice president of communications Mike Zizzo had to say about today’s 2020 schedule reveal, according to NBC Sports.

"“We greatly appreciate our partnership with the NBC Sports Group an opportunity to share our 2020 schedule with a national network audience during Sunday’s pre-race show for the Grand Prix of Portland. We’ll be sharing a few new wrinkles to the schedule that should enhance the excitement of the 2020 season.”"
