Following back-to-back victories by Charles Leclerc in Belgium and Italy, the first two victories of his Formula 1 career, how do the Formula 1 Driver Power Rankings look?

Scuderia Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc responded to his first career Formula 1 victory in the Belgian Grand Prix by doubling his career win total in the Italian Grand Prix, Ferrari’s home race, just one week later at Autodromo Nazionale Monza.

How did Leclerc’s victory in this 53-lap race around the 11-turn, 3.600-mile (5.794-kilometer) Autodromo Nazionale Monza road course in Monza, Italy affect the Formula 1 Power Rankings?

These Formula 1 Driver Power Rankings were calculated using a formula, which you can see here. But before they are revealed, take a look below at some of the highlights of this edition of these rankings.

Formula 1 Driver Power Rankings Analysis

After not moving at all in the the Formula 1 Driver Power Rankings after the first victory of his Formula 1 career last week, Charles Leclerc moved up multiple positions in this week’s edition despite the fact that his average finish in the last five races is severely lowered by his retirement in the German Grand Prix.

After starting the season with one top four finish in the first six races, Leclerc has recorded seven top four finishes, of which six are podium finishes and two are victories, in the eight races that have taken place since then. Excluding his 17th place finish in the German Grand Prix, his average finish is 2.43 since he crashed in the Monaco Grand Prix.

But just how high did he jump?

On the mid-pack side of things, Renault had a brilliant Italian Grand Prix with both Daniel Ricciardo and Nico Hulkenberg securing their first top five finishes of the 2019 season.

Ricciardo’s fourth place finish was his first top five finish since he joined Renault ahead of the season, and Hulkenberg’s fifth place finish was his first top five finish since he finished in fifth in last year’s German Grand Prix. Combined, Ricciardo and Hulkenberg moved up nine positions in these rankings this week.

Now let’s get started with the rankings.
