With two of the three races of the round of 6 of the 2019 NASCAR Truck Series playoffs in the books, there are still no locks into the Championship 4.

Just one race remains in the three-race round of 6 of the three-round, seven-race 2019 NASCAR Truck Series playoffs, and none of the six remaining championship drivers have punched their tickets to the Championship 4.

The first two races of the round of 6 featured two first-time winners, neither of whom are playoff drivers.

Young’s Motorsports’ Spencer Boyd won the race at Talladega Superspeedway before Kyle Busch Motorsports’ Todd Gilliland won the race at Martinsville Speedway.

Gilliland’s victory in this 201-lap NASCAR Hall of Fame 200, which was extended by one lap due to a late caution flag period that sent the race into overtime, around the four-turn, 0.526-mile (0.847-kilometer) Martinsville Speedway oval in Ridgeway, Virginia, means that it will be a pure points battle in the round of 6 finale at ISM Raceway to determine which four drivers will compete for the championship in the Championship 4 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

GMS Racing’s Brett Moffitt, who experienced issues in this race that relegated him to a 29th place finish even after winning stage one, still leads the playoff picture and has a 45-point gap over the Championship 4 cut line as he looks to defend his championship.

At 35 points above the Championship 4 cut line, Halmar Friesen Racing’s Stewart Friesen is also in a solid position to advance as the series moves to the round of 6 finale at ISM Raceway.

The other four round of 6 drivers all sit within 26 points of one another, with the two drivers ahead of the Championship 4 cut line within 20 points of it and the two drivers below it within 15 points of it.
