How have each of the four 2019 NASCAR Truck Series Championship 4 drivers fared at Homestead-Miami Speedway in past races there?

The four drivers set to compete in the 2019 NASCAR Truck Series Championship 4 at Homestead-Miami Speedway are Halmar Friesen Racing’s Stewart Friesen, GMS Racing’s Brett Moffitt, Niece Motorsports’ Ross Chastain and ThorSport Racing’s Matt Crafton.

Friesen is the only one of these three drivers who locked himself into the Championship 4 by winning one of three races of the round of 8 of the three-round, seven-race playoffs. He won the round of 8 finale at ISM Raceway. Meanwhile, Moffitt, Chastain and Crafton all locked themselves into it on the strength of their point totals.

Moffitt competed in the Championship 4 last year while Crafton competed in it in the 2016 and 2017 seasons. Friesen and Chastain have never competed in it.

Leading up to the championship-deciding Ford EcoBoost 200 this Friday night, how have these four championship contenders fared at the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) Homestead-Miami Speedway oval in Homestead, Florida?

More from Camping World Truck Series

Friesen has only competed in three races at Homestead-Miami Speedway, and he has gotten better each race. After finishing in 29th place at the track in his debut as a part-time driver in the 2016 season, he finished in seventh there as a full-time driver in the 2017 season and fourth there against as a full-time driver in the 2018 season, giving him an average finish of 13.33.

Moffitt has competed in just one race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, and that was last year’s season finale at the track that he won to be crowned Truck Series champion in his first season as a full-time driver in the series.

Chastain has competed in five races at Homestead-Miami Speedway, one as a part-time driver and four as a full-time driver, after failing to qualify for what would have been his first race there in the 2011 season. As a full-time driver in the 2012 season, he finished in 10th place. He bettered that on one occasion with an eighth place finish in the 2013 season as a part-time driver. In his most recent start there last year, he finished in 16th. His average finish at the track is 14.40.

Finally, Crafton has competed in 18 races at Homestead-Miami Speedway, all as a full-time driver and one in each season from 2002 through 2018. He won the race at the track in the 2015 season and has recorded three top five finishes and 10 top 10 finishes there. His average finish is 11.06.
