Austin Hill secured his fourth victory of the 2019 NASCAR Truck Series season by winning the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, the Ford EcoBoost 200.

Austin Hill capped off his first NASCAR Truck Series season for Hattori Racing Enterprises the same way he started it: by winning a race in Florida.

Hill took the checkered flag to win the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, the Ford EcoBoost 200. This victory is his fourth of the season, tying GMS Racing’s Brett Moffitt for the most victories among the full-time drivers.

Hill started this 134-lap race around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) Homestead-Miami Speedway oval in Homestead, Florida in fifth place in his #16 Toyota, and he wont it by 1.569 seconds over ThorSport Racing’s Matt Crafton in second in his #88 Ford.

The race winner was ultimately eliminated from the playoffs in the late stages of last Friday night’s race at ISM Raceway by Crafton, who won the championship with his second place finish. Hill had to settle for a fifth place finish in the championship standings behind the four Championship 4 drivers.

Kyle Busch Motorsports’ Christian Eckes finished the race in third place in his #51 Toyota, clinching the #51 Toyota this year’s owner championship. He finished ahead of Championship 4 drivers Ross Chastain of Niece Motorsports and Brett Moffitt of GMS Racing in their #45 Chevrolet and #24 Chevrolet in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Rounding out the top 10 were ThorSport Racing teammates Johnny Sauter and Grant Enfinger, Kyle Busch Motorsports’ Todd Gilliland, GMS Racing’s Sheldon Creed and Henderson Motorsports’ Parker Kligerman in sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th place in their #13 Ford, #98 Ford, #4 Toyota, #2 Chevrolet and #75 Chevrolet, respectively.

The other Championship 4 driver, Halmar Friesen Racing’s Stewart Friesen, started the race from the pole position in his #52 Chevrolet, but he could only manage an 11th place finish.

This race featured 11 lead changes among six leaders. Hill led more laps than anybody else in the field with 56 laps led, and he won both stage one and two. The other five leaders of the race were Crafton, Eckes, Chastain, Moffitt and Young’s Motorsports’ Gus Dean. Despite the fact that he started from the pole position, Friesen did not lead any laps.

The race featured only three caution flag periods, of which only one took place as a result of an on-track incident while the other two took place as a result of the endings of stages one and two. Of the 32 drivers who started the race, 29 finished it and 13 finished on the lead lap.
