NASCAR: Who’s in, who’s out heading into 2020
By Asher Fair
Who will not return from the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season in 2020, and who will be a part of the driver lineup throughout the upcoming year?
A total of 36 drivers have been confirmed as full-time drivers for the 36-race 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season, and two more full-time entries, both chartered entries, have been confirmed.
Last season, there were 31 drivers who competed throughout the entire season and five additional entries that also appeared in every race.
With that being said, there were two full-time drivers who competed in two of these additional entries but were forced to miss at least one race, so in total, there were 33 full-time drivers last year.

A total of 27 of these drivers are set to return to the Cup Series in a full-time capacity in 2020, with nine additional full-time drivers slated to join them.
Of these 27 drivers, 23 are set to return to the same team in 2020 while three switched teams. Of these 23 drivers, one is set to stay at the same team but switch cars.
So who is going where ahead of the 2020 season?
