Conor Daly is set to drive for Carlin in the four non-Indy 500 oval races on the 2020 IndyCar schedule, making him a full-time driver.

In December, Conor Daly was confirmed by Ed Carpenter Racing as their full-time road and street course driver of the #20 Chevrolet, and it was also confirmed that he would compete in the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in a third entry for the team alongside full-time driver Rinus VeeKay and oval driver Ed Carpenter.

Set to compete in 13 of the season’s 17 races already, the 28-year-old Noblesville, Indiana native has now been confirmed by Carlin as the driver of the #59 Chevrolet for the remaining four oval races on the schedule.

These races are scheduled to take place at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday, June 6, Richmond Raceway on Saturday, June 27, Iowa Speedway on Saturday, July 18 at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway on Saturday, August 22.

Max Chilton had already been confirmed as the driver of the #59 Chevrolet for the 12 road and street course races as well as the Indy 500.

As a result, Daly is technically a full-time driver, but with multiple teams.

Daly has not been a full-time driver since the 2017 season when he drove the #4 Chevrolet for A.J. Foyt Enterprises.

On the Carlin front, nothing has actually changed for Daly from 2019 to 2020. He competed in each of the four non-Indy 500 oval races for the team last year as well, even though this was not confirmed until later in the year after Chilton backed out of the oval events following his failed Indy 500 qualifying attempt.

The only change to the oval schedule from 2019 to 2020 is that Pocono Raceway was removed and replaced by Richmond Raceway.

In the four non-Indy 500 oval races last year, Daly recorded an average finish of 10.25 and a top finish of sixth place at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway. He finished in 11th at Texas Motor Speedway and 13th at Iowa Speedway. He competed for Andretti Autosport in the Indy 500 and finished in 10th.
