IndyCar’s first rookie multi-race winner in more than a decade, Colton Herta is poised to break out in his second season in the series. Here are 10 things, several positive and several negative, that point to him contending for the championship in the 2020 season.

Following an impressive rookie season driving for Harding Steinbrenner Racing in 2019, Colton Herta is set to move to Andretti Autosport in a #88 Honda entry that is officially classified as an Andretti Harding Steinbrenner Autosport entry for the 17-race 2020 IndyCar season.

Will the 19-year-old Valencia, California native compete for a championship in his sophomore season after winning multiple races in 2019?

Herta won at Circuit of the Americas and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in the 2019 season. His victory at the former came in just his third career start. He made his debut in the 2018 season finale at Sonoma Raceway before competing in the 2019 season opener on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida prior to finding victory lane for the first time.
