IndyCar races that haven’t been postponed or canceled
By Asher Fair
While the start of the 2020 IndyCar season has been significantly delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, there are still plenty of races that have not been affected.
From fans being allowed at the 2020 IndyCar season opener on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida to no fans being allowed at the season opener, things quickly went downhill.
The series then canceled not only this race but all of the March and April races on the schedule due to the coronavirus pandemic.
This amounted to four of the 17 races on the schedule being axed from the calendar, and while there was early speculation that a few of them may find dates later in the year to be contested, three of the four have now been canceled.

As a result, the 2020 season is now scheduled to be just a 13-race season, although the series could potentially look to add more races throughout the year depending on how this ever-changing situation plays out.
This could very well mean racing beyond the currently scheduled season-ending date of Sunday, September 20 as well, and many teams and drivers are already anticipating this possibility at a time when pretty much nothing can truly be anticipated. There is speculation that St. Petersburg will be placed back on the schedule for later in the season, possibly as the new finale.
But as gut-wrenching as it is to see four races completely axed from the calendar, let’s focus on the positive.
Five additional races have had their dates shifted around (four moved back and one moved up) but are still on the schedule, but even with that in mind, there are still many more races on the schedule that have not yet been affected by this pandemic, and hopefully it stays that way.
Here is a list of the eight races that are still set to be run on their originally scheduled dates, as of Friday, March 27.
NOTE: Because of the nature of this situation, this list is not final. Be sure to check our tracker for details about postponed races, canceled races and other schedule changes.
