Amid the dire situation facing the world, let’s take a look at five positive storylines for NASCAR that nobody could have predicted.

It’s time for some positivity for a change.

It’s no secret that the world is currently facing a dire situation in the form a global pandemic, the likes of which have not been seen in the last century. The coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc on the peoples’ lives, the economy, sports and much, much more.

NASCAR has not been exempt from that, as the 2020 season was unexpectedly halted after just four race weekends.

The Cup Series and the Xfinity Series competed at Daytona International Speedway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Auto Club Speedway and Phoenix Raceway while the Truck Series competed at the first two of those four venues before the season was effectively suspended indefinitely.

NASCAR postponements: TRACKER

Right now, the scheduled resumption date is Saturday, May 9, which is the scheduled date of the Cup Series night race at Martinsville Speedway. However, even that is in doubt at this point.

But instead of discussing the many negatives that have come from this situation, let’s take a look at a few storylines that have served as somewhat of a silver lining in what has otherwise been a bad situation.
