It has been over two months since cars hit the track in the NASCAR Cup Series. Here are five drivers who need a good start at Darlington Raceway and Charlotte Motor Speedway.

There have been four races completed during the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season. In those four races, we have had three different winners. Denny Hamlin won the season-opening Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway while Joey Logano won the races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Phoenix Raceway and Alex Bowman won the race at Auto Club Speedway.

These three drivers are all in a comfortable position, as they are locked into the playoffs. The only things they will be racing for are stage wins and race wins to earn more playoff points as the season progresses.

As for the rest of the field, they need to focus on trying to win races to earn their way into the playoffs. If they are unable to win, they will have to focus on scoring enough points to qualify for the 16-driver postseason field.

NASCAR still plans to run a full 36-race schedule, so this means there should be 22 races left before the playoffs start, although a full schedule has not been confirmed due to the situation surrounding the coronavirus pandemic. Every race and every spot will matter for the drivers not yet locked into the playoffs.

Here are five drivers who need to get off to a quick start in the four races scheduled at Darlington Raceway and Charlotte Motor Speedway from Sunday, May 17 to Wednesday, May 27 to get their teams trending in the right direction.
