Where do things stand for the NASCAR Xfinity Series concerning the standings and the playoff picture with racing slated to return?

With the fifth race of the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series season slated to get underway on Friday, March 13 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, the season was suspended indefinitely as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Now here we are past the middle of the May, and the most recent race still took place on Saturday, March 7 at Phoenix Raceway. Now, roughly 10 and a half weeks later, action is scheduled to resume at Darlington Raceway with a previously unscheduled race this evening, the Toyota 200.

This race is the first of two races for the Xfinity Series during an 11-day span from Sunday, May 17 to Wednesday, May 27 which includes seven races across the Cup Series, Xfinity Series and Truck Series. The second Xfinity Series race during this span is scheduled to take place next Monday, May 25 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Since it is slated to have been 73 days since there was last a Xfinity Series race when the drivers at NASCAR’s second highest level of competition see the green flag once more, let’s take a look at how things standing heading into this evening’s 147-lap race around the four-turn, 1.366-mile (2.198-kilometer) oval in Darlington, South Carolina.
