With Alex Bowman set to drive the #48 Chevrolet in the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season, the fourth Hendrick Motorsports could see a number change. Here are four possible numbers for that car.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Alex Bowman is set to replace seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson behind the wheel of the #48 Ally Financial Chevrolet next year. Bowman, already a Hendrick Motorsports driver, is set to move from the #88 team to the #48 team.

With this move having been made, it leaves the fourth team at Hendrick Motorsports with some questions to be answered.

With Bowman keeping crew chief Greg Ives, who will be the crew chief for the team’s fourth car? Who will drive the team’s fourth car? Who will will sponsor that fourth car?

Finally, what will be the number of that fourth car?

All those questions are important, especially amid rumors which point to Kyle Larson being the driver of that fourth car at Hendrick Motorsports.

Larson recently posted an essay on his website describing his experience since the incident on Easter Sunday that got him fired by Chip Ganassi Racing and indefinitely suspended by NASCAR. In that essay, he stated that he wants to return to NASCAR.

Here are four possible numbers that Larson or whomever gets the ride could use in 2021.
