Jeb Burton is set to return to NASCAR on a full-time basis in 2021 with Kaulig Racing’s Xfinity Series team after being without a full-time ride since 2015.

Jeb Burton may have competed in at least one of the three NASCAR national series on some level over the last nine seasons, but he has only ever been a full-time driver three times, and he hasn’t competed full-time since 2015 when he drove for the BK Racing Cup Series team.

However, even in 2015, he did not complete the full schedule, as he failed to qualify for eight of the 36 races for the underfunded team. He hasn’t run a full schedule since 2014 when he competed for the ThorSport Racing Truck Series team.

This past season, the 28-year-old Halifax, Virginia native competed part-time for the JR Motorsports Xfinity Series team for the second straight season and finished as high as a career-high second place at Richmond Raceway.

Now, for the first time since 2014, he is set to run a full schedule, and he is set to do so in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for the first time in his career.

With Ross Chastain having been promoted to the Cup Series with Chip Ganassi Racing, Burton is set to drive the #10 Chevrolet for Kaulig Racing which Chastain drove this past season.

Here is what he had to say about this opportunity in a team release.

"“It’s an honor to have this opportunity driving full-time for Kaulig Racing and Nutrien Ag Solutions. I’ve worked so hard, not only behind the wheel, to get an opportunity like this, and it couldn’t be more perfect – representing a brand with the same values and beliefs as my family. This partnership represents everything we are, and I can’t thank Matt Kaulig, Chris Rice and Nutrien Ag Solutions enough.”"

Here is what team president Chris Rice had to add.

"“Jeb is a hard worker on and off the track. He’s a great fit for Kaulig Racing and our partners. I’ve known the Burton family and worked with them back in the 1980’s, so it feels like everything has come full circle. We are going to go out and compete for wins and championships. Jeb is a guy we can build a long term, successful program around.”"

Kaulig Racing shared the following message on Twitter.

More from Xfinity Series

Burton has competed in 133 NASCAR races over the last nine seasons, including 43 Xfinity Series races from 2013 to 2014. In those 43 starts, he has recorded six top five finishes and 15 top 10 finishes. He recorded five of those six top five finishes and 12 of those 15 top 10 finishes in his 18 starts for JR Motorsports over the last two seasons.

His lone NASCAR win came in the 2013 Truck Series season at Texas Motor Speedway when he was driving for Turner Scott Motorsports. He went on to finish in a career-high fifth place in the championship standings.

Burton is set to become a teammate to Justin Haley, who has driven full-time behind the wheel of the #11 Chevrolet for Kaulig Racing since 2019.
