IndyCar: Dale Coyne Racing set for big 2021 announcement
By Asher Fair
Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser-Sullivan are set to announce their driver for the 2021 IndyCar season on Wednesday morning.
With under three months to go until the 2021 IndyCar season is scheduled to get underway at Barber Motorsports Park on Sunday, April 18, the only thing known about Dale Coyne Racing’s driver lineup is that it won’t resemble anything like what we saw in 2020.
Santino Ferrucci, who piloted the #18 Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser-Sullivan Honda, left IndyCar for the NASCAR Xfinity Series to compete for Sam Hunt Racing, and Alex Palou, who piloted the #55 Dale Coyne Racing with Team Goh Honda, left the team to replace Felix Rosenqvist behind the wheel of the #10 Honda for Chip Ganassi Racing.
However, Dale Coyne Racing are all set to announce one of their drivers for the 2021 season.
The driver of the Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser-Sullivan entry is set to be announced at 11:00 a.m. ET on Wednesday morning.

Multiple drivers have been rumored to end up with the team for the 2021 season. Former Haas Formula 1 driver Romain Grosjean has been tipped to sign with the organization, and Pietro Fittipaldi, who drove in select races for the team in 2018, has been mentioned as a possibility as well.
Charlie Kimball, who would bring a decent amount of funding, is not returning to A.J. Foyt Enteprises for the 2021 season, making him a solid candidate to take over one of Dale Coyne’s two cars.
Another possibility is Ed Jones, who competed for the team as a rookie in 2017 before leaving for Chip Ganassi Racing.
Having multiple drivers share the second car is not out of the question and is something which the team have done multiple times in the past.
Who will be confirmed as the driver of the #18 Honda for the 2021 IndyCar season tomorrow morning, and who will then be confirmed as the driver or drivers of the team’s second car sometime down the road before the season gets underway?
