Ferrari – Round 1, Pick 5 (Pick 5 overall): Lando Norris

I originally had the much younger Lando Norris behind his real-life McLaren teammate because of the fact that he still hasn’t won a teammate battle through two seasons in the sport. But that was the only reason I had him falling to #6 behind the top three youngsters (and obviously fellow Briton Lewis Hamilton) as well.

So his improvements throughout the 2020 season and his strong start to the 2021 season, especially compared to his teammate, changed that, and he comes in at #5.

With that being said, it really is a tossup among the young drivers; you can easily make the case for him at #2. But most importantly, we’ll see what he can do against Daniel Ricciardo throughout the rest of the 2021 season.

Alpine – Round 1, Pick 6 (Pick 6 overall): Daniel Ricciardo

Daniel Ricciardo falls to Alpine at #6 overall. One of the most talented drivers on the grid, Ricciardo still hasn’t had the chance to perform in the best equipment, but he continues to prove why he deserves a chance to do so.

Ricciardo won seven races during his tenure with Red Bull before opting to leave for Renault and now ultimately for McLaren after two seasons of beating his teammates at Renault.

At 31 years old, he is getting to the point where it’s going to be harder and harder for him to land an opportunity which would allow him to put his skillset on full display to potentially challenge for a championship, but he is also at a point where he could very well still have many years of good productivity ahead of him.
