A bizarre rumor was spread and then ultimately shot down regarding the upcoming NASCAR race weekend at Dover International Speedway.
NASCAR is set for a weekend of racing at Dover International Speedway this weekend, first with the Drydene 200 Xfinity Series race on Saturday afternoon and then with the Drydene 400 Cup Series race on Sunday afternoon.
Despite a rumor that this race weekend had been postponed, both the 200-lap and 400-lap races around the four-turn, 1.0-mile (1.609-kilometer) high-banked “Monster Mile” oval in Dover, Delaware are scheduled to take place as scheduled.
An individual posing as Fox Sports’ Bob Pockrass stated that NASCAR had postponed the upcoming race weekend as a result of the recent Colonial Pipeline issue and the fuel shortages caused by it.

The real Bob Pockrass responded to the rumor quite quickly, noting that the account which made the tweet indicating the postponement contained three “s” at the end of Pockrass in the handle, not two, and was not a legitimate account.
That account has three s at the end of the name. The Dover race is on this weekend. https://t.co/z463KK1GFi

Dover International Speedway responded to the rumor as well, confirming that both of their races this weekend are still scheduled to take place as planned — barring any weather-related delays, of course.
Bob is right.

Both the Drydene 200 and the Drydene 400 are set to be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 from Dover International Speedway, with the former beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 15 and the latter beginning at 2:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 16. The starting lineup formula was used in place of qualifying for both events.
Joe Gibbs Racing’s Daniel Hemric is set to start from the pole position in the Xfinity Series race, and Martin Truex Jr. is set to start from the pole position in the Cup Series race.
