The starting lineup is set for this Saturday’s Federated Auto Parts 400, the second race on the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series playoff schedule.

The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs got underway this past Sunday evening at Darlington Raceway with the Cook Out Southern 500, and drivers are in the midst of a short week to prepare for race number two: the Federated Auto Parts 400.

The second of three races in the round of 16, the first of four rounds in the 10-race playoffs, is scheduled to take place this Saturday night.

Where is the Federated Auto Parts 400?

The Federated Auto Parts 400 is contested at the four-turn, 0.75-mile (1.207-kilometer) Richmond Raceway oval in Richmond, Virginia, which also hosted a race back in mid-April.

Richmond broadcast information

The Federated Auto Parts 400 is set to be broadcast live from Richmond Raceway on NBC Sports Network beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, September 11. If you have not yet begun your free trial of FuboTV, now would be a great time to do so!

Who is on pole at Richmond?

Because of NASCAR’s starting lineup formula, Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson, who finished in second place in the playoff opener, is set to start Saturday night’s 400-lap race from the pole position behind the wheel of his #5 Chevrolet.

Larson is set to start alongside Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin, the winner of this past Sunday’s race, in second place behind the wheel of his #11 Toyota. Here is the full starting lineup for the 2021 Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond Raceway.

Richmond betting prediction

Now that Denny Hamlin finally got the monkey off his back and secured his first victory of the 2021 season this past Sunday, it is hard to overlook him at +400 odds, given his past success at Richmond Raceway, where he is a three-time race winner, and at short tracks in general.

In fact, it is impossible to overlook any of the top three Joe Gibbs Racing drivers in these odds. Before 2020, Martin Truex Jr. and Kyle Busch had combined to win four consecutive races at Richmond Raceway.

Richmond Raceway was one of the few tracks at which Kyle Larson had actually won entering the 2021 season. While he wasn’t strong there in April, +600 odds for him at a track where he has previously won are too good to pass up.

Any Team Penske driver could be hard to pass up on as well, given their success at the tracks where the 750 horsepower package is used. Those drivers include Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski, and Ryan Blaney. With that being said, Blaney has historically struggled at this track, so you may want to avoid him, even at +1700.

Two drivers not listed who may be worth betting on are Christopher Bell and Aric Almirola. Take a look at not only their results from Richmond Raceway, but New Hampshire Motor Speedway, another track where the 750 horsepower package is used earlier this year. Their combined average finish is 3.25, with Almirola leading a 1-2 finish at the latter.

Bell is listed at +1300, and Almirola is listed at +2500.
