Heading into the final race week of the 2021 Formula 1 season, the world championship odds are set. Who is the favorite to win it all?

After 21 races, the Formula 1 world championship battle is tied up at 369.5 points heading into the 2021 season finale at Yas Marina Circuit.

Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton is set to enter the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the 16-turn, 3.281-mile (5.280-kilometer) road course on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on a three-race winning streak, a streak that has resulted in him tying Red Bull’s Max Verstappen for the lead of the driver standings after entering this stretch trailing by 19 points.

Hamilton is a five-time winner at Yas Marina Circuit while Verstappen won there for the first time last December.

However, changes have been made to the track ahead of this year’s race. Prior to these changes, the course had been a 21-turn, 3.451-mile (5.554-kilometer) layout since it was added to the schedule in 2009.

Following the fifth consecutive 1-2 finish for the title rivals in this past Sunday’s inaugural Saudi Arabian Grand Prix at Jeddah Corniche Circuit, the final 2021 world championship odds (pending appropriate fluctuation throughout the week, of course) have officially been set by WynnBET.

Hamilton is listed as the favorite at -240, while Verstappen is listed as the underdog at +165.

This means that if you bet $240 on Hamilton and he wins, you’d win $100 ($340 total payout). If you bet $100 on Verstappen and he wins, you’d win $165 ($265 total payout).

Of course, there are many ways that the championship can be won by both drivers without either one of them winning the season finale, so their odds to win the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix itself are both longer.

Hamilton is listed as the favorite at -190 while Verstappen is listed as the favorite at +225.

Considering the fact that the pair have combined to win 17 of 21 races so far this year, including the last five in a row, I’d generally recommend betting on the higher-paying race odds as opposed to the championship odds here.

With that being said, the world championship is going to be won by one of these two drivers either way, whereas somebody else could very well win the race if they are involved in another incident.

Here is a list of the next highest drivers in the odds to win the race.

  • Valtteri Bottas: +1400
  • Sergio Perez: +2250
  • Charles Leclerc: +5000
  • Lando Norris: +5000
  • Pierre Gasly: +7500
  • Daniel Ricciardo: +7500
  • Carlos Sainz Jr.: +7500
