Following the confirmation of the 33rd entry, the Indy 500 entry list is all but solidified for the 106th running of the biggest race on the IndyCar schedule.

Just 30 drivers competed in the 1947 Indy 500, then known as the 31st International 500-Mile Sweepstakes. Since then, the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing” has never featured fewer than 33 drivers.

Despite legitimate — and seemingly never-ending — concerns that this may change with the 106th running of the 200-lap race around the four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval in Speedway, Indiana later this month, a 33rd entry has finally been confirmed.

Cusick Motorsports and DragonSpeed have partnered to field the #25 Chevrolet for three-time Indy 500 starter Stefan Wilson. The equipment is being supplied by fellow Chevrolet outfit A.J. Foyt Enterprises.

Cusick Motorsports partnered with Andretti Autosport to run the #25 Honda for Wilson in last May’s Indy 500, and DragonSpeed last competed in the race in August 2020 with Ben Hanley.

As a result, the 33-car entry list appears set for the race’s 106th running.

Take a look at this year’s Indy 500 entry list.
